teve, Darren and Helen opted to drive out to the Alps, having 2 weeks to spend out there, while myself, Chipper and Andy arrived a week behind the pace but determined to catch up. Also present when we arrived were Nicky and Sunny, Steve's house mates, but they soon ran from what they could clearly see were men on a mission. Just in case anyone thinks that its just the late lads who made a bit of a stress of the journey it worth recounting the mishaps that bedeveiled the early birds. The plan seemed simple enough; Steve was heading down from Edinburgh to pick up his kit, then was going to drive to Helen's parents and meet up with Darren and Helen and then head onto the ferry port and so on. The linch pin in all this is of course a passport, which was left with his Edinburgh kit. Realising this half way to Helen's parents Steve dashes home, grabs the offending item and heads straight to the ferry port, where no doubt Helen was tapping her foot while Darren was checking his watch. Having missed one ferry it seems ironic that the next one was late. To rub salt into the wounds of poor organisation Steve arrived in Switzerland to discover that his Euro's weren't going to help him much, given that they have there own currency...
